The Boston Bruins did not enter the season with a captain this year, which ended up breaking a 52-year run of entering the season with a captain.
Following their most recent game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, head coach Marco Sturm may have revealed who their next captain is going to be.
In his most recent press conference, Sturm ended up talking highly about David Pastrnak, and made some comments that suggest he is going to be the next captain of the Bruins organization.
Sturm stated that David Pastrnak is the leader of the Bruins.
The Boston Bruins did not name a captain entering the season becuase they were looking for someone to step up and be a leader.
Well so far this season, David Pastrnak has done exactly that.
With Pastrnak making a «save» as the de facto goalie on an empty net attempt by Tampa followed by laying a huge hit on Kucherov, Sturm was asked what that does for a team to see a scorer making those plays:
«He's our leader. He does everything. He wants to win. He was good on the bench. He does everything right»
Mittelstadt on the push back the Bruins had today when trailing Tampa Bay:
"I think it starts with our leaders. You see Pasta playing goalie and taking runs at guys. I think it makes it easier for the rest of us. And obviously Chucky is a warrior out there."
