Former Boston Bruins fan favourite, and current Chicago Blackhawks captain was just hit with some unfortunate news as it was revealed his daughter is undergoing surgery.
This morning, the Chicago Blackhawks have announced that captain Nick Foligno is going to be stepping away from the organization.
It's unclear how long Foligno will be away from the organization for, but it's due to a heartbreaking situation.
Foligno steps away from the Blackhawks
Chicago announced that Foligno is stepping away due to his daughter going for surgery related to her congenital heart disease.
"Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno is taking a brief leave of absence as his daughter undergoes follow-up surgery related to her congenital heart disease. Nick, nor the Blackhawks, will have any further comment at this time."
