New speculations and rumors have surfaced the media regarding the Boston Bruins trading their 21-year old fan-favourite in a blockbuster deal, and it's shocking.
The Boston Bruins have been faced with an immense amount of decisions this offseason, regarding who to keep, who to acquire, and who to depart with.
With that being said, these decisions come at an extremely crucial time as the Boston Bruins intend to complete their ongoing re-tool in order to be contenders for the 2025/26 NHL season.
And one big decision is in question.
That being the fact that the Bruins are facing a pivotal decision regarding a promising young center whose future has sparked intense debate amongst fans this summer.
This young forward being the Boston Bruins' Matthew Poitras.
After a dynamic, yet, inconsistent 2024/25 NHL season, questionings have been looming, regarding whether or not the Bruins should trade the 21-year old.
Should the Boston Bruins organization depart with their 21-year old, Matthew Poitras, this summer?
During Poitras' last campaign, he spent time in the NHL as well as the AHL, showcasing both potential and growing pains.
During his time in the National Hockey League, he struggled with puck control, he was hesitant when shooting, and was evidently frustrated.
He finished with 1-10-11 in 33 games, which ultimately led him to an AHL demotion.
In the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, Poitras' performance varied, while his first stint was electric, as he tallied 17-24-41 in 40 games, his opponents were still able to exploit his non-physical style.
However, during his second AHL stint, Poitras revealed grown as h adapted, out-skilled his opponents, and averaged two points per game.
