The real reason the Boston Bruins signed Don Sweeney to a contract extension was just revealed
The Boston Bruins just announced a contract extension for General Manager Don Sweeney and now the reason for it was just revealed.
Towards the end of the year fans made it known that they didn't want Sweeney back, especially after he
traded captain Brad Marchand and other key pieces.
Now the real reason Sweeney was signed to a contract extension was just revealed.
Why The Bruins Signed Don Sweeney
The Boston Bruins seem to be having a hard time finding their next head coach of the organization, and it has to do with Don Sweeney.
«He was concerned for two reasons,» the other NHL source close to Tocchet told RG. «Sweeney's status and Sweeney's track record with his head coaches.»
Pete Blackburn, a trusted source in the hockey community revealed that the reason Sweeney was signed to an extension may have to do with them having a hard time finding a head coach without having a committed General Manager:
The timing of the Sweeney extension sure is something, especially after Neely essentially said next year would decide his fate. Have to wonder if they're having a hard time in the coaching search without a GM commitment
Bruins fans don't seem too found of this signing, but now the organization is stuck with him for another three-years.
