The worst was just confirmed for a Boston Bruins defenseman after the Bruins announced he would not return after suffering an upper-body injury.
The Boston Bruins got some very unfortunate news during their game against the New York Rangers today.
Injuries for the Boston Bruins this year have been terrible. Currently the Bruins are missing
Mark Kastelic, and
Hampus Lindholm from their lineup, they recently just got back
Charlie McAvoy and
Cole Koepke, but have been hit with some more unfortunate injury news.
Just before the third period started, the Boston Bruins made an announcement on Twitter and confirmed that defenseman
Michael Callahan would not return to the game after suffering an upper-body injury.

This is a tough blow for the Bruins, they are already missing a key defenseman in Hampus Lindholm, and have now lost another one.
This will open up a spot for
Parker Wotherspoon to slot back into the Boston Bruins lineup, at least until Hampus Lindholm returns.
According to a Bruins insider, Callahan ended up taking a puck up high causing him to leave the game with an upper-body injury and not returning.

the good news is that the Boston Bruins are hopeful Hampus Lindholm will be back into the lineup before the two week break for the Four Nations Faceoff Tournament.
