Tragic News Strikes Former Boston Bruins Defenseman Following A Recent Announcement
GM Barry Trotz and the Nashville Predators have announced today that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon will miss the next six months due to an injury.
That means the former Boston Bruins defenseman won't see NHL ice at the very least until the beginning of next year.
Lauzon, a 27-year old blueliner was injured during the Predators game on December 31st against the Minnesota Wild.
Lauzon, not known for his offense, has played 28 games this year for the Predators and scored 1 point (1 A), and a whopping 127 hits.
He led the NHL in hits last season, with a total of 386( a record high), and is known more for his punishing style of play.
In 28 games this season with the Predators, Lauzon had one assist, 34 blocks, 127 hits, and a minus-4 rating.
It could be one reason why he's out of the lineup for the next six months,
The 6-foot-3 defenseman has carved out a career in Nashville, after playing his first three seasons in Boston.
Lauzon's played a total of 316 games during his seven-year NHL career scoring 45 points (14 G, 41 A).
