Tragic news strikes former Boston Bruins head coach Don Cherry following a heartbreaking announcement

On Saturday morning, Cherry revealed that a book written by his daughter, Cindy Cherry, had been completed and has been set to go on sale.

The book titled 'The Don Cherry Story', is a biography of Don's life, but in the unique perspective of his daughter who was there in all his endeavours as the incredible events of his life unfolded.

As many Boston fans know, Don's daughter, Cindy Cherry, suddenly passed away this past summer at the age of 67-years old, with Don announcing this past Saturday that her unexpected passing occurred 'just as Cindy was finishing the book'.

Despite Don being undoubtedly proud of the incredible work his daughter put into this book, there is no denying the saddening reality that Cindy is no longer by his side to see how her hard work will unfold.

However, a positive side to her hard work is that it has been announced a portion of the proceeds with be donated to Don Cherry's Pet Rescue Foundation.

A foundation that was established by Cindy after her own life changing experience of rescuing an elderly dog named Lucy, where she begun to work towards saving the lives of countless animals.

Don Cherry announced the releasing of her book over social media via 'X', where he claims his daughter 'just right into' the details regarding his firing at Rogers, and added that 'she doesn't hold back' in the book regarding the incident that occurred 6 years ago, an incident that still remains highly controversial to this day.

Although this is an incredible proud moment for Don Cherry, it is also a heartbreaking one and the hockey community showed their love and condolences to the Cherry family.
