The Boston Bruins were set to take on the Dallas Stars Thursday night a man down as they lost Hampus Lindholm during their previous meeting against the Blues.
The Bruins confirmed that Hampus Lindholm would be out for "weeks" after suffering a fractured knee from blocking a shot, and Thursday night a scary situation surfaced for another Bruins defenseman.
During the first period of the game against the Dallas Stars a scary situation surfaced for Brandon Carlo after taking a dirty hit from Jamie Benn, the Stars captain from behind.
Benn cross-checked Carlo from behind sending him flying head-first into the boards, and things did not look good as Carlo laid on the ice for awhile.
Here is the hit Jamie Benn threw on Brandon Carlo:
Brandon Carlo has a bad history of concussion issues, and initially Carlo would exit the game.
The Bruins received some good news though as Brandon Carlo would return to the Bruins bench.
The original call on the ice was a major penalty, but the refs ended up reviewing it and somehow it got overturned to a minor penalty.
If this call stood as a major penalty, the league would automattically review it, but since it was a minor penalty it's now up to the league to decide whether or not this hit deserves further disciplinary actions.
