There have been a lot of rumours about who could replace Jake DeBrusk in the top-six this season, and a recent report may have just revealed who will be taking his spot on the second line.
Jake DeBrusk opted to leave the Boston Bruins during the off-season, in free agency and signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
According to NHL.com Jake DeBrusk signed a seven-year $38.5 million contract ($5.5 million AAV).
This was a big loss for the Boston Bruins, especially since Jake DeBrusk was the Bruins best and most consistent player in the playoffs. Now they are looking to replace him and we may have found out who it is going to be.
There were a lot of rumors about who it could be, but a recent report from Bruins Network suggest that Fabian Lysell may be the best option for the spot.
Fabian Lysell has been getting a lot of reps with Brad Marchand, and Charlie Coyle, and it seems like they might be trying to build some chemistry there before the regular season.
Lysell, along with many other prospects that have had a lot of hype around them entering camp this year, has been given every chance possible to make the team this year.
Don Sweeney made it clear no body will be handed a job this season, and tonight Lysell has another chance to impress the Boston Bruins as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers.
