Disastrous news strikes ex-Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers
Leading up to the new NHL season, new reports have surfaced and revealed that the Panthers are going to be without a top player for a couple of months.
During the regular season, Panthers forward
Matthew Tkachuk was dealing with an injury.
This injury ended up causing him to miss a big portion of the season, and leading into the playoffs, it was unclear whether or not he would be able to play.
Somehow, Tkachuk ended up managing to play the entire Stanley Cup Playoffs, but it came at a price, and he is now paying for it.
After appearing in just 52 games for the Florida Panthers, it was just recently revealed that
Tkachuk is going to have to get surgery done for his injury.
The Panthers will be without Tkachuk for awhile
According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, he recently revealed that Tkachuk did in fact go through with surgery, which was something he was considering.
There is a chance now that Tkachuk will miss the remainder of the calendar year, and possibly could return to the lineup sometime in the new year.
Can confirm Matthew Tkachuk underwent surgery a few weeks ago and will miss the start of the season.
Timeline is unclear, but he could be out of action as long as sometime in January.
Tkachuk did know that if he went for the surgery option that he was going to have to miss a couple of months.
"If I do get the surgery, it'll definitely be the first two or maybe three months if that's the case," said Tkachuk. "But it's still undecided at this point."
The
Florida Panthers are definitely going to miss Tkachuk during the first couple of months of the season.
