On the morning of September 20th, 2022, longtime defenseman Zdeno Chara officially announced his retirement from the NHL. It was a sad day for Bruins fans, but at the same time, it was a celebration of an incredible Hall of Fame career.
''Big Zee'' signed a one-day contract to retire as a Boston Bruin, the team he spent the majority of his career with, and was the captain for all 14 seasons as well. Before that, however, he made it official with an Instagram post early that morning.
In a recent episode of ''Behind the B'', fans can take a behind-the-scenes look at Chara officially sharing the news on social media, and one quote really stands out:
''It feels right. It's amazing how 25 years go by so quickly.''
