The Boston Bruins started a three-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings last night. And it was one for the history books! According to Matt Porter of the Boston Globe, last night's game in L.A. was the first NHL game to feature to goaltenders from Alaska. As per Porter: ''NHL history alert: This Bruins-Kings game is the first time two Alaska-born goaltenders have faced each other. Jeremy Swayman is from Anchorage. Pheonix Copley is from the city of North Pole, some 370 miles north. Knew it was chilly in here.''

The two goalies are also the only Alaskan-born players in the entire league this season. Nate Thompson was the most recent (2021-22) to play in the NHL as well.
