The Boston Bruins lost out on Ilya Kovalchuk and John Tavares while Rick Nash might retire, so general manager Don Sweeney has put his focus on his own restricted free agent.
Kuraly will receive a three year contract worth $1.275million a season, while Blidh received a one year two way contract worth $650k.
The 25 year old Kuraly was acquired in the Martin Jones trade to San Jose and played 75 games last season and registered 14 points which included six goals. The center also added four points in 12 playoff games including two goals.
The 23 year old Blidh has been making small steps forward since coming over from Sweden. Blidh put up 26 points in 71 games last season for Providence and was able to get in one NHL game but didn't register any points.
Are you happy Sweeney is keeping the two youngsters around?
