The good news is, the Bruins walked away with another two points, the bad news is that once again the team had to rely heavily on the first line.
Patrice Bergeron registered three assists, Brad Marchand scored two goals while David Pastrnak added another combining for all the Bruins offensive production on the night.
While David Backes is hopeful to return to the lineup on Saturday, it's going to take more than Backes to get the rest of the forward group going.
That's where one of general manager DonSweeney's favourite trade partners could come in handy.
According to multiple reports, the New York Rangers have placed forward Kevin Hayes on the trade block. The 26 year old 6'5" forward would be a great addition to the Bruins up front as he can play center or on the wing and scored 25 goals last year.
Hayes could either slot into the Bruins third line and give the team a more balanced second power play unit, or he could even slot in beside Krejci on the wing on the Bruins second line.
Would you like to see Sweeney make a move for the Rangers forward?
