Contract talks between the Florida Panthers and Brad Marchand take an unexpected turn: One team stands out

Brad Marchand has been open about wanting to re-sign with the Panthers this off-season, but now it seems like talks have taken an unexpected turn.
One NHL insider believes that Brad Marchand could end up leaving the Florida Panthers in the off-season, and sign with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Bill Zito traded for Brad Marchand during the NHL trade deadline, and it may go down as one of the best trade deadline acquisitions in NHL history.
In the regular season, Brad Marchand did not look the best with the Panthers only having 4 points in 10 games, but it was a different story in the playoffs.
During their playoff run, Marchand ended up scoring 10 goals, 10 assists for 20 points in 23 playoff games.
Marchand leaving the Panthers?
Although Marchand has expressed his desire to re-sign in Florida, their cap situation may make that difficult.
If they are not able to re-sign him, Marchand will come one of the most sought after free agents on the market.
The Fourth Period reported that teams including the Maple Leafs, L.A. Kings, Capitals, Hurricanes, and Golden Knights will be interested in him.
"If, however, talks fall apart and Marchand explores alternative options, he will have the pick of the Cup contending litter, as clubs like Toronto, Los Angeles, Washington, Carolina, Vegas and others will pursue him." -TheFourthPeriod
The Golden Knights seem like the most likely out of these teams to land the former Boston Bruins captain.
Vegas has been linked to Marner as well, and acquiring both of these players would require them to move on from a couple of their own players.
