Corey Perry has been in the NHL since the 2005-06 season and has recorded 405 goals and 453 assists with the Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and now the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He is already one of the all-time greats to play the game, but a loss in this year's final would set an ugly NHL record that he would most likely want to avoid.
By making the Stanley Cup Final for a third straight year, on a third different team, Perry joins Marion Hossa as the only two players in NHL history to do so.
Perry has made the finals in the last two seasons with Dallas (2020) and Montreal (2021), losing both times to the Lightning.
Hossa made the finals with Pittsburgh (2008 loss to Detroit), Detroit (2009 loss to Pittsburgh), OUCH and then finally won the Stanley Cup with Chicago in 2010.
Perry's hoping it will end the same for himself, but if the Lightning lose to the Colorado Avalanche this year, he will become the only player in NHL history to lose three consecutive Cup Finals on three different teams.
Corey Perry won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.
