Zdeno Chara has been in the NHL for the past 24 years and has played in 1680 games, where he sits 7th all-time in NHL history.
Of course, the now 45-year-old spent most of his career as a Boston Bruin. He played 14 seasons wearing the spoked B and was team captain for all of them. Chara captained the Bruins for 1,023 regular-season games and 150 playoff games over his time spent in Boston. Winning the Stanley Cup in 2011.
He put the post up on his personal Instagram account (@zeechara33) earlier this morning, saying thank you to the New York Islanders franchise and fans.
He could just be saying goodbye to the Islanders, but if it is a hint at retirement, we wish nothing but the best for Big Z!
