Gary Bettman hints at new expansion location for the NHL
Commissioner Gary Bettman held a press conference at the Bell Centre in Montreal earlier today, prior to the Bruins and Canadiens game.
One of the major discussion points was more possible expansion for the NHL. Bettman shared the following:
''I know there's rumour & speculation as to what the Canadiens position would be & I will tell you for certain Geoff [Molson] has constantly over the years said to me if we as a League wanted to expand, he would welcome a team in Quebec City.''
Bettman notes how Habs' owner Geoff Molson, is in favour of another NHL team in Quebec, which has always been viewed as a potential major hurdle.
