Investigation started involving the firing of Sportsnets Jeff Marek
An investigation has been started following the firing of Sportsnets Jeff Marek.
Sportsnet has had some of the best insiders running the game with Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman who have been working together on the 32 thoughts podcast.
Both of them have become some of the most reliable insiders and have also been the most accurate as well.
Marek disappeared for awhile and many were wondering why. The other day he announced he will be stepping away from Sportsnet and many were left questioning why.
Today the reasoning for him stepping away was finally made public:
Marek had come under scrutiny from the NHL during the first round of the draft for allegedly revealing to a friend which players teams were drafting moments before those picks were publicly announced, according to league and media industry sources. The NHL shared concerns about the situation with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which probed further, according to multiple sources briefed on that investigation.
Now there is an investigation to see if there were any bets placed involving him leaking the information early.
