The NHL Department of Player Safety wasted little time in issuing a multi-game suspension for Kings forward Jacob Doty. Midway through the second period Jacob Doty threw a big hit against Jeffrey Veil. The hit happened after Veil had tipped the puck into the defensive zone.
On the play Doty was given a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for interference. Today the NHL Department of Player Safety announced the following:
Los Angeles' Jacob Doty has been suspended for two games for Interference on San Jose's Jeffrey Viel.
This suspension will likely only be served if the 29-year-old Doty makes that Kings opening day rosters. If not it will wait until he makes an NHL roster.
