The NHL Player Safety Department announced its decision on Monday.
Pittsburgh Penguins star centreman
Evgeni Malkin has received a four-game suspension for cross-checking Nashville Predators defenseman Mark Borowiecki.
Malkin went absolutely bonkers at the end of the second period between the Preds and Pens on Sunday.
After viciously slashing the stick out of Borowiecki's hands, Malkin proceeded to cross-check him directly in the mouth.
Malkin will have to serve a four-game ban for his actions, which means he'll be out of the lineup for both of the upcoming games the Bruins have scheduled against the Penguins.
