Mike Grier officially becomes first black GM in NHL history

San Jose Sharks owner Hasso Plattner announced that they have hired Mike Grier as the club's fifth general manager in franchise history.

Grier has the honour of being the first black GM in NHL history with the announcement.
And there was nobody better to announce it first, than himself:
