The Providence Bruins clinched their spot in the AHL Playoffs on Friday night.
Despite not having a regular season game on the schedule, the P-Bruins clinched a berth in the 2022 Calder Cup Playoffs thanks to the Hartford Wolf Pack's 4-1 loss to the Toronto Marlies.
This marks the eight consecutive year in which the Providence squad will take part in the AHL's post-season and the 23rd time since the franchise was founded 30 years ago.
Providence currently sits third in the Atlantic Division with an overall record of 33-20-10 this season. The AHL's regular season calendar is set to end on the final day of April, so the baby B's still have time to move around in the standings, especially considering they have a handful of games in hand on some of their rivals.
The Bruins results this season have shown how deep their team truly is. Providence's top scorer this season is
Cameron Hughes, whose 45 points (14G-31A) place him 54th overall in AHL scoring.
The main contributor behind Providence success is unquestionably goaltender
Troy Grosenick (16-5-4), who leads the league with his 2.02 GAA and .931% save percentage.
