The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney are still trying to work out a couple of contracts.
Charlie McAvoy and
Brandon Carlo remain unsigned restricted free agents as Sweeney struggles with only $7.2million in salary cap space to get it done.
With so many question marks on the blueline with a month to go before the season, Sweeney has offered a defenseman a PTO.
Sweeney put in an offer to Alex Petrovic who has spent the majority of his career with the Florida Panthers.
Alex Thomas of Boston Hockey Now reports that Petrovic hasn't signed the PTO yet as he's also looking at two way contracts from the Carolina Hurricanes and Calgary Flames.
The 27 year old Petrovic brings some grit as he's racked up 360 penalty minutes in 263 games.
Just like Miller, Petrovic has never played a full 82 game season.
