The Boston Bruins had a great opportunity to open the scoring this afternoon, but now we'll never know due to a terrible offside call.
As David Krejci and
Brad Marchand broke down the ice with a short-handed 2-on-1, the linesman blew it down as Marchand stretched his leg back.
And upon a closer look, it wasn't really close at all.
Why would the linesman call it offside when it's that close, or if he's unsure? Isn't that the point of having coach's challenges?
Kasperi Kappanen opened the scoring for the Penguins just moments later, as they currently lead 1-0 in the second.
