On Monday, general manager Don Sweeney announced that the team had placed veteran defenseman Anton Stralman on waivers.
The Boston Bruins need the cap space to activate Derek Forbort, who has missed the last four weeks, off of long-term injured reserve for Tuesday night against the Lightning.
The window for other teams to claim Stralman officially closed at 2 pm EST. As per Chris Johnston of TSN:
''Anton Stralman clears waivers.''
The Bruins currently have a cap space of -$590,988, which allows them enough room due to the ''daily cap'' rules. However, Sweeney will still have to make another move(s) to be compliant by the end of the season.
