A Major Announcement Was Just Made Regarding Boston Bruins Superstar David Pastrnak
David Pastrnak is a legitimate Hart Trophy candidate. He's scored 110 points, and 113 points consecutively the last two seasons before the retooling of Boston had begun.
Then he still had plenty of top-six talent playing in Boston with Jake DeBrusk and
Brad Marchand. With DeBrusk leaving in the summer and Marchand traded to the Panthers, the Bruins are short-handed on legitimate superstar talent.
Not conducive for a team whose typically on the hunt for a Stanley Cup.
This season, Pastrnak has put his elite skills to use. He's ranked eighth in both points and goals scored this season.
Since January 1st, he's ranked second in points with 51 and goals with 24.
In 73 games with the
Bruins, he'd stayed on fire with 88 points total (37 goals, 51 assists) and has found himself to be a driver of offense when the team generates none.
This all the while on a terrible Bruins team, who won't be seeing the playoffs for the first-time since 2016.
Another accolade Pastrnak should be given kudos for while playing on a mediocre team, with an Interim Coach who may not survive the offseason, is that Pastrnak is one of only five NHLers who have scored a total of 300 points since the 2022-2023 season.
Pastrnak should be in the Hart Trophy conversation without question this season.
And GM Don Sweeney should leverage that kind of discussion in talks with free-agents and players seeking a trade elsewhere. That includes a potential Brad Marchand return, if it's in the cards.
