A major development has surfaced in the Boston Bruins locking up a top player to a massive contract extension

The Boston Bruins are in need to think smart and hard throughout the rest of the 2024/25 NHL season in order to produce for their current re-build, and with Free Agency creeping in around the corner, there has been speculation on who will be re-signed and acquired, and it was just released there is major development in the organization re-signing a top player.
The Boston Bruins are in a tight race for a postseason spot, although they are cutting it short, there still a possibility the team can push through and make an attendance to this year's playoffs.
However, this doesn't cut it for the Bruins, as they are striving to become the kind of contenders where they can make an appearance to the playoffs with ease, and with the help of there re-build, and some new insight on which players are suggested to re-sign with the franchise, we can expect this to happen for the organization.
Fans and reporters have started speculating the idea of Boston resigning a key-forward, Morgan Geekie, take a look:

« Only five players have more goals than Morgan Geekie (24) since Nov. 27: Jake Guentzel (25), Tom Wilson (25), Rickard Rakell (25), David Pastrnak (26), and Leon Draisaitl (33).»
The Bruins Network then replied to this social media post, expressing what kind of contract would work best for the forward, as well as the franchise:
«Since 2020-2021, Morgan Geekie has seen an increase in both ice time (except 2022-2023) and goal scoring as a result. Think you have to sign him as a prime-aged forward capable of playing anywhere in the lineup, but not to expect (or pay for) 25+ goals moving forward.»
With the Bruins expected to lock in this young forward, it leaves many wondering who else will be extended by the organization, or ultimately dropped by the team in hopes for a fresh start next season.
