A trade involving $6.4 million Bruins defenseman just took a massive turn
Recently, there have been a lot of talks about the Boston Bruins trading a $6.4 million defenseman, but it just took a big turn.
To begin the season,
Bruins defenseman
Mason Lohrei was pretty impressive offensively but struggled to be effective defensively.
Because of this, head coach Marco Sturm
removed Lohrei from the lineup for five straight games.
McAvoy did not travel with the team to Toronto for their game due to a personal matter, and this opened up a spot for Lohrei.
With McAvoy out, Lohrei drew back into the lineup, and he was impressive. Before this, there were a lot of talks about the Bruins possibly
moving on from Lohrei.
Elliotte Friedman also commented on the Bruins possibly trading Lohrei after healthy scratching him for so many games.
32 Thoughts (Nov 7): Mason Lohrei has sat out 5 straight games. Elliotte says "I'm trying not to jump to any conclusions" but says people are going to start to wonder what's going on here. #NHLBruins #NHL
Last night, things took an unexpected turn in his return to the lineup, and the Bruins may not trade him after all.
Lohrei impresses in return to lineup
Lohrei was really good for the Boston Bruins in his return to the lineup, picking up two assists, with zero giveaways, and was also at the top of the impact card.
This is what the Bruins have always seen in him. Solid offensively and good defensively, and if he can continue to play like this, there is no way the Bruins move him.
