The news regarding Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy stepping away from the organization has opened up an opportunity for another defenseman.

Not only has the injury bug started to hit the Bruins, but they also got hit with some terrible news today as well.
Along with another injury to a Bruins forward, the organization announced that Charlie McAvoy will not be travelling with the team for their game due to a personal matter.
In the same announcement, the Bruins announced that forward Casey Mittelstadt won't be playing tonight either due to an injury.
Charlie McAvoy is home because of a personal matter. Casey Mittlestadt (upper body) did not travel.
With this news for Charlie McAvoy, it has opened up a roster spot for a defenseman to once again make a name for himself.

Lohrei returning back to the lineup

The Boston Bruins confirmed that defenseman Mason Lohrei will be making a return back to the lineup tonight after announcing that McAvoy will not be travelling with the team.
Mason Lohrei enters the #NHLBruins lineup for the first time since October 27th

He seems to have fallen out of favor with Marco Sturm, the team is 5-0-0 since his benchingwhat do you do with Mason?
Lohrei was removed from the lineup five games ago and has yet to see playing time since.
Since Lohrei was removed from the lineup, the Bruins have gone on a five-game winning streak.
They are going to have a tough time extending it to six games tonight, facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs and missing so many bodies.
