The Boston Bruins just faced a brutal blow to a top trade candidate, and the team has issued an official statement.

Recently, the injury bug has really been striking the Bruins, and it's going to put their depth to the test tonight.
Just last week, Bruins forward Elias Lindholm suffered a lower-body injury, and he will be out week-to-week.
In their most recent game, John Beecher suffered an upper-body injury, and it's unclear at this moment how long he will be out.
Then today the Bruins also announced that they will be without Charlie McAvoy, as he is stepping away from the organization due to a personal matter.
Along with that, though, the Bruins announced they have suffered another injury, this time to a top trade candidate.

Mittelstadt suffers an injury

When the Bruins announced that McAvoy was not travelling with the team due to a personal matter, they also announced that Mittelstadt will not be travelling with the team as well due to an upper-body injury.
Charlie McAvoy is home because of a personal matter. Casey Mittlestadt (upper body) did not travel.
Mittelstadt has been in trade rumors dating back to the off-season.
He wasn't doing too well for the Bruins at the beginning of the year, but after being benched for multiple games, Mittelstadt's game has been turned around.
If the Bruins are going to trade anyone, Mittelstadt is more than likely going to be the one on the move, and if he is out long-term, this could hurt his trade value.
