An unexpected announcement was made involving Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy

Charlie McAvoy ended up having a pretty solid 2024-25 season for the Boston Bruins, that is of course the games he ended up playing for them.

McAvoy ended up suffering a season ending injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.

A dirty hit from behind ended up resulting in a shoulder injury that he ended up having to have surgery on.

Ultimately, it was deemed that he would not appear in another game for the Bruins during the season.

Now, with the 2025-26 season right around the corner, so is the new NHL 26 game, and an unexpected announcement was made regarding Charlie McAvoy.

EA Sports is set to release their new game on September 12th, and with it coming up, they are starting to release rating for each position.

Just today, EA ended up revealing their top 10 right shot defenseman for the new game.

EA ended up giving McAvoy one of the highest ratings for right shot defenseman.

McAvoy was given an 89 overall rating for the game, beating out other notable defenseman like Evan Bouchard, Colton Parayko and Moritz Seider.

He currently sits as the third highest ranked right shot defenseman with only Cale Makar and Adam Fox being ranked higher.

Charlie McAvoy is considered one of the better defenseman around the league, so it's not too surprising to see him get this rating, but not many people saw him being ranked high over other notable names.

McAvoy appeared in just 50 games for the Boston Bruins last season, scoring seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points along with 81 blocks.
