Vancouver forward Elias Lindholm is set to become a pending unrestricted free agent on July, 1st, but the Canucks are trying to avoid him hitting the market.

Yesterday Elliotte Friedman made a major announcement regarding Elias Lindholm and where he could possibly be going.

Friedman reported that he believes the Vancouver Canucks have made an offer to Lindholm and his camp to try and keep him around, take a look:

«A couple of weeks ago on the pod, during the playoffs, we talked about the recruiting efforts from the Canucks players were pretty intense. You gotta stay, you gotta stay, you gotta find a way to stay.' I still think that's going on,» Friedman speculated. «This is my guess: I think the Canucks are willing to go in the 77 range; I'm just not sure it's going to get it done. I think the Canucks want this player.»

Lindholm hasn't seemed to fit in with the Canucks ever since being traded there at the trade deadline, and he has been linked to the Boston Bruins multiple times, and ever since the off-season has begun.

If Don Sweeney is looking to get a 1C in the off-season he might want to try and look somewhere else as a 7x7 for the type of player Lindholm is just doesn't seem to be worth it, and they could either spend that money trying to sign another center or look for a top-six winger.
