Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks combine for a trade: Insider links them to an interesting player
An insider has linked the Boston Bruins to combining for a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for a surprising player, it's intriguing.
The
Boston Bruins went into the NHL trade deadline last season with a vision to flip the organization around. This ultimately came with a fire sale which saw immense talents depart from this Original Six franchise and make their way into new organizations.
Since and throughout the summer, Boston Bruins general manager, Don Sweeney, has been prioritizing a re-tool filled with talents to hopefully put this club back into postseason contention.
Evidently, the Boston Bruins added several depth pieces over the offseason, to ensure the organization's bottom-six had enough strength.
However, new speculations have erupted around the Bruins adding yet another depth, and although the last thing Boston needs is another forward to clog up depth and try to fit in the lineup, this one is suggested to be different.
As this time, it's a young and offensive talent, and that is the type of risk Don Sweeney is speculated to dive into.
Boston Bruins linked to acquiring Chicago Blackhawks forward Lukas Reichel
The Chicago Blackhawks' young forward, Lukas Reichel, was anticipated to be a major part in the organization's future.
He fits perfectly into the Hawks' current youth movement, and made his presence known off the hop in Chicago.
Reichel exploded onto the scene with 57 points in 56 games during his rookie AHL season, and his next campaign he'd undergo another near-point-per-game output, adding 15 points in 23 games for the Blackhawks.
While Reichel was offering great numbers, many projected that his 2023/24 season would be his breakthrough year. Yet, this young forward completed the season with just 16 points in 65 games.
That being said, a new report by Nate Duffett of Causeway Crowd has unveiled the Boston Bruins have been linked to Lukas Reichel.
«The rumors are that Reichel could soon be on the move, and I see no better fit than the Bruins. They are searching for some offensive depth, and Reichel can fit in both at wing and center. Instead of gifting
Viktor Arvidsson the second-line winger spot, why not put Reichel in a spot where he can succeed and see if Marco Sturm can get the most out of him?
It wouldn't be a terrible risk for the Bruins to take. Reichel's stock dropped so much that it shouldn't take a massive return to get him, and uniting the German forward with Sturm might be a good home-country connection for Reichel to get his feet back under him. If anyone is going to get the most out of Reichel, you would assume it'd be the only German head coach in the league.»
