The Boston Bruins were looking to snap their two game losing streak, but the referees played a big part in them not being able too, and David Pastrnak called them out following the overtime loss.

Boston's brief two-game homestand came to an end with another loss, this time losing 3-2 in overtime to one of the worst teams in the NHL, and David Pastrnak was not happy about it.
During the overtime frame Marat Khusnutdinov was called for a tripping penalty, and Pastrnak was not a fan of it. So much so that he ended up chasing the official around, protesting the call. It wasn't the worst call ever, but the tension that was built up to this point caused an outburst from Pastrnak.
Following the loss, David Pastrnak stood by how upset he was with the call.
Not only did he call out the officials, but he also called out his teammates, and held them accountable after they dropped to 30-30-9 on the season.

Pastrnak Calls Out NHL Officials

After the game, this is what Pastrnak had to say about the officials in the game:
«I feel like we made some big mistakes,» Pastrnak told reporters at TD Garden, as seen on NESN's postgame coverage.

«They had a big chance in the third (period) so we didn't get many power play opportunities. Like I said, I think it could've gone either way. Obviously a good effort from our group but a very frustrating loss. Yeah, tough one.»

Pastrnak continued: «I felt like if anybody should get power plays in overtime, it should have been us. I think they'd been having power plays all game long so that's jusy my opinion and that's why I was mad.

Frustrating that they got the power play opportunity in overtime, but at the same time we made the mistakes on the puck to make it happen.»

The Bruins showed some fight early on into the game after Peyton Krebs ended up scoring for Buffalo to open the scoring, Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie both responded quick with goals of their own.
Entering the second period, the Boston Bruins looked like they lost everything again, and got out played by the Sabres, this continued into the third period, and ultimately the Bruins ended up paying the price.
In overtime, the Buffalo Sabres made no mistake on their power play, unlike the Bruins who previously had two chances to do so throughout the night. Alex Tuch sealed the deal for the Buffalo Sabres in overtime, scoring the game winning goal 4:47 into overtime.
This loss definitely sucked, but the Boston Bruins are not looking at the defeat as a complete loss.
«For the most part, our checking game was better tonight then it had been, and that was something that we talked about,» Bruins head coach Joe Sacco told reporters, per team-provided video.

«We wanted to check better in all three zone. We didn't probably generate enough offense and that comes back to not playing behind enough maybe or not playing off the shot like I said before. But I did think our commitment to the checking game was a step in the right direction and where it needed to be.»
