Boston Bruins forward Elias Lindholm issued a controversial statement during the off-season and now he is facing some backlash from the organizations fan base.

After signing a massive contract in the off-season, Elias Lindholm had a very disappointing first year with the Boston Bruins.
Lindholm signed a seven-year $7.75 million deal in the off-season with the Boston Bruins and did not live up to it.
According to him though, he does not see it that way. In a recent interview with Uffe Bodin, Lindholm made some comments that have pissed off Boston Bruins fans.

Elias Lindholm Makes A Controversial Statement

«We were probably one of the best lines in the league,» Lindholm said of his line with David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie.

Fans were not happy with this statement, as the Bruins ended up missing the playoffs, and that led to them trading some very notable players including captain Brad Marchand.
Bruins fans did not hold back, calling out Lindholm by saying that if he was better or didn't struggle at the beginning of the year, the Bruins more then likely would be in the postseason instead of sellers at the trade deadline.
Lindholm did acknowledge his struggles to start his Bruins career, but he hopes to be better for the 2025-26 season.
«I had a bit of a rough start to the season with an injury that wasn't ideal,» Lindholm said. «Then toward the end, I got a great opportunity to play with (Morgan) Geekie and 'Pasta' (Pastrnak), and we were probably one of the best lines - if not the best - in the entire league. So I came here with good confidence.»

Lindholm was hot for the Boston Bruins to finish the year scoring 14 goals, and 13 assists for 27 points in his final 25 games. He looked really good at the IIHF World Championship, leading the tournament in goals with eight, and finished second in points behind Pastrnak.
In 82 games this year, Lindholm finished the year with 17 goals, and 30 assists for 47 points, but is hopeful to have a boost in offensive numbers next season.
