Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney provides update on Bruins search for their next head coach

A Boston Bruins insider has revealed general manager, Don Sweeney, provided a recent announcement regarding an update on the organization's search for a new and improved head coach to replace the team's current one, Joe Sacco, and it is surprising.
Joe Sacco was a longtime assistant with the Boston Bruins (2014-2025), and was recently promoted to interim head coach just this past 2024/25 NHL season, when the organization unexpectedly fired their previous coach, Jim Montgomery.
However, his longevity as interim head coach does not seem so likely.
As of late, a head coach replacement has been looming in Boston, however, following this update, it looks as though it is more probable that the Bruins will in fact be replacing their interim head coach, Joe Sacco.
A Bruins insider, Shawn Hutcheon, revealed an update on Boston's current search.

This goes to show the organization is not taking their search lightly, and it is hinting at the fact that Bruins fans can most likely expect their interim head coach to be either demoted or departing from Boston.
Another recent post by a reporter on social media via 'X', announced that Sweeney is seeking interviews with a head coach who is currently in the playoffs.
Don Sweeney said that the coaching search is ongoing. Both Joe Sacco and Jay Leach remain in the hunt. He also wants to interview someone still in the playoffs

Boston fans can only hope the Boston Bruins' Don Sweeney and front office make the right decisions for the organization moving forward.
