Boston Bruins General Manager speaks on the organization signing another free agent
The Boston Bruins are looking to be a more competitive team next season, and Don Sweeney openly admitted that the Bruins may make another free agent signing before the season begins.
After making a bunch of signings on July 1st, the Boston Bruins roster is all up for competition, and they could add some new players to the mix.
Before the season begins, the Bruins could use some more skilled players, and with some top free agents still available, Don Sweeney spoke on possibly making another signing.
Bruins looking to add another free agent
During the Bruins Foundation Gold Outing, General Manager Don Sweeney made it clear to players that they are going to have to fight and earn their roster spot this year.
«I think it's really important for each and every player to understand there are very few spots that are just going to be taken," Sweeney said. "You know, you've got the incumbent players that feel comfortable in what they've done in the National Hockey League, that's obvious, but the rest of the guys really need to understand there's going to be a competition for ice time and for roster spots.»
«We're monitoring that market right now," Sweeney said. "We're perfectly fine, but we have spoken to some players that we feel would provide even more competition amongst our group.»
Acquiring another top-nine forward wouldn't be a terrible idea for the Bruins, as it would provide more competition for players like Khusnutdinov, Poitras, Minten and other prospects.
