The Boston Bruins organization has benefitted immensely from a recent Edmonton Oilers goaltender trade with the Utah Mammoth.

While NHL training camp will be coming to an end very soon, the final roster cuts are going to be made, and some of these cuts are not going to be easy to make.
And one major decision has already been made involving a goaltender trade.
A trade between the Utah Mammoth and Edmonton Oilers surfaced on Wednesday, sending goaltender Connor Ingram to Alberta.
This is expecting to have a great affect on Don Sweeney and a major looming decision.

What will general manager Don Sweeney do with Boston Bruins' goaltender situation

Don Sweeney currently has three goaltenders in the NHL, which seems like a clearcut decision.
Jeremy Swayman starting, Joonas Korpisalo backing him up, Michael DiPietro to the American Hockey League.
But it's not as easy as you think, have a look:
"For DiPietro to get there, he'll have to clear waivers, and that is not guaranteed to happen. Kevin Weeks reported last June that teams around the league were waiting to see what Boston was going to do: re-sign him or let him hit free agency. If he hit free agency, there were teams ready to make a run at him."

The Oilers completed trade can greatly benefit Don Sweeney and provide him some confidence that if and when he decides to send Michael DiPietro down to the American Hockey League that Edmonton won't submit a waiver claim.
Despite Sweeney missing a great trade opportunity, he can still walk out of Wednesday knowing he's in a better position.
