The Boston Bruins organization is set to undergo an unexpected and shocking move with defenseman, Hampus Lindholm.
At this moment, it is pretty clear that the Boston Bruins will be entering their upcoming 2025/26 NHL campaign without a named captain.
This was ultimately confirmed by the team's newly acquired head coach himself.
«If you're a Boston Bruin, it's a big deal. If you're not 100% sure, then no, you don't [have to name a captain]. I'm the coach, and I'm not going to say I'm making that decision alone.» Marco Sturm stated. « I don't want to because it's different. Again, it's the Boston Bruins, and it is a big deal. That's something we're going to talk about. We both have to agree that this is the right guy. We will, but I don't know when.»
Right now, both David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy are the Boston Bruins' assistant captains, and 'Pasta' has revealed his perspective on the matter.
«Yeah, it's different,» Pastrnak said. «But at the same time, if you look at the big picture, it's the same. It's always the leadership in this organization is not one guy; it's been always a group decision, a group of leaders.»
However, a major development has surfaced in the Boston Bruins naming another big role within the organization, but it's not naming their next captain.
Boston Bruins speculated to name Hampus Lindholm assistant captain alongside David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy
A recent post on social media, via «X», unveiled a reporter has speculated that the Boston Bruins organization might just name a third assistant captain within the club this year.

During the Boston Bruins' last game against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Bruins had three players wearing an «A» on their chest.
These players were David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, and last but not least, Hampus Lindholm.
This has undoubtedly surfaced some sort of curiosity of whether or not Lindholm will in fact wear an «A» on his jersey alongside the Boston Bruins' top two stars.
