Boston Bruins head coach had a direct message to Boston Bruins prospects as the regular season quickly approaches.
The Boston Bruins have a bunch of young players that are looking to make the NHL roster out of camp, and Sturm had a message for them.
During the Bruins 3-2 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, these three players played on the same line.
Sturm wants young players to enjoy the moment and have fun
«They practice so hard and so well the whole time, and I feel like in games, they think too much,» Sturm said after the game. «So I gotta get them out of that. Just don't think. Play the game. It's a tough league, but it's even tougher when there's a lot going on in your brain. I want them to play free and just play and have fun.»
Sturm wants his younger players to just have fun and play their own game. He believes that whenever younger players think too much and worry, that's when they struggle.
At this moment, it's unclear whether or not these three players are going to crack the NHL roster, but Sturm did like the way this line played.
Boston plays in their season opener on October 8th, when they will be on the road to face the Washington Capitals.
