Boston Bruins top prospect Fabian Lysell made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins on December 28th, and today before his second NHL game against the San Jose Sharks, head coach Joe Sacco sent him a clear message.

During his first NHL game, Lysell played a massive role in the first goal of the game the Boston Bruins scored against the Columbus Blue Jackets as he used his speed to get to a loose puck in the offensive zone.
He unfortunately wasn't given a point on the play, but Justin Brazeau would end up scoring off a rebound.
This is Lysells second opportunity with the Boston Bruins after being drafted by the organization back in the first-round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He will be playing on a top line tonight with Elias Lindholm, and Marat Khusnutdinov.
Following the Boston Bruins morning skate today, Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco told reporters that Lysell is replacing Mark Kastelic in the lineup tonight, and Sacco is expecting him to make the most of this opportunity.

Sacco Sends A Clear Message To Fabian Lysell

«He's only played the one game this year, and I thought that the one game he played in, he did a good job, showed some offensive capabilities, just like any other player,» Sacco said, per team-provided video. «He's gonna get more of an opportunity here tonight playing on that line.

«He'll get some more minutes offensively. He's gotta be able to make some plays for us, produce some offensive, whether it's offensively in the zone or through the neutral zone off the rush, some things like that. And then, his details and habits have to be solid away from the puck.»

Sacco added: «Just go out, play your game. We'll correct mistakes that happen during the course of a game. We can always handle that. But not overthink, go out, do what you do well. That's why you're here. So you gotta go out, and you gotta show it.»

Even though Lysell was held off of the scoresheet in his first NHL game, he has 11 goals, 23 assists along with a plus-11 rating in 51 games this season for the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.
Although the Bruins have lost Mark Kastelic for the remainder of the road trip, the Bruins don't plan on calling up any other players from Providence, and this will give Lysell a great opportunity here.
