Boston Bruins head coaching search reportedly down to two candidates
A new report has come out, and revealed that the Boston Bruins have reportedly narrowed their search for a new head coach down to just two candidates.
Ever since firing head coach Jim Montgomery, the Boston Bruins have not had a new full-time head coach.
They gave Joe Sacco the interim title for the remainder of the year, but since the off-season they have been looking for a replacement.
Multiple teams like the Chicago Blackhawks, Seattle Kraken, New York Rangers, and Philadelphia Flyers have already hired their new head coaches this off-season, leaving just the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins without a head coach.
According to a recent report, the Boston Bruins are narrowing down their search for a new head coach, and it could happen soon.
Two Candidates For The Bruins Coaching Position
Fluto Shinzawa of the Athletic reported last week that Washington Capitals assistant Mitch Love, and Marco Sturm are finalists for the Bruins vacant position. It was also reported that both had in person interviews and both did well.
Another candidate who was being highly considered for the job was former Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft, but according to reports, it seems like he has fallen out of the race.
After a disappointing season, the Bruins are now entering a retool stage, and have some pretty good cap space to make a big move in the off-season with over $25 million in cap space, and they also hold the 7th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
