The Boston Bruins had one of their worst years in nearly a decade last season, but entering the 2025-26 season they were just hit with some big injury news that will benefit them.
In a game against the St. Louis Blues, Lindholm ended up blocking a shot which would ultimately cause him to miss the remainder of the season.
It was later revealed that he ended up
fracturing his knee cap from blocking the shot, and although he was given a 6-8 week window to return back to the ice, he never made it back into the Boston Bruins lineup for the remainder of the year.
This caused
Lindholm to only appear in 17 games, finishing the year with three goals, four assists, and 7 points.
It was a tough loss for the Boston Bruins, especially given the fact that he was their best defenseman at the time.
Recently, the Boston Bruins were hit with some good news regarding his injury.
Lindholm ready to return to the Bruins lineup
Hampus Lindholm seems good to go for the beginning of the 2025-26 season after speaking to a Boston Bruins reported.
While speaking with Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe, Lindholm stated that he is 100% healthy for the beginning of training camp.
Enjoyable phone chat this week with Hampus Lindholm (for this Sunday's hockey notes).
B's veteran D'man says fractured kneecap is fully healed -- and he is 100 pct go for Sept. 17 start of camp. Hopes to be w/ Three Crowns in Milano-Cortina for '26 Games.
This is massive news for the Boston Bruins, especially considering they are looking to have a bounce back year.
