A trade is reportedly in the works involving the Bosotn Bruins, and it's set to take place shortly.
RG Media, a renowned media outlet, has been the first to plenty of news this summer and last year, including Ivan Demidov's arrival to the Canadiens, or even the Brad Marchand trade, has now unveiled a new development in Boston.
According to RG ORG, the Bruins are looking to deal away recently acquired forward Casey Mittelstadt as soon as they can this upcoming season.
An anonymous NHL source has revealed that GM Don Sweeney never truly intended to keep the young center on the roster, despite acquiring him from the Colorado Avalanche in a trade.
The anonymous NHL executive told James Murphy of RG:
«I don't know how many rumors he's been in, but I've been hearing [Casey] Mittelstadt could be on the move again since before the Bruins season even ended.»
He was also involved in trade rumors earlier on into the season, but a trade didn't materialize. The former 1st-round pick is entering the final year of a three-year, $17.25M deal which was signed by the Colorado Avalanche this past season.
The 26-year-old is showing solid promise, despite a lacklustre career start with the Buffalo Sabres.
Casey Mittelstadt crossed out of Bruins plans moving forward
The anonymous source stated:
«I think a lot of teams have been and are expecting the Bruins to flip him at some point, but where's his value at right now if that's the case? They may just see how it goes this season. Maybe he reshapes his value, and if they're out of it again at the next trade deadline, then they move him then and parlay him into another pick or prospect.»

It appears that he's already crossed out of GM Don Sweeney's plans moving forward, and with Pavel Zacha trade talk also floating around, are we about to witness a legitimate rebuild kick off?
