Once the trade deadline came to an end, some information started leaking out on what happened between the Boston Bruins and Brad Marchand that led to him being traded.

It was reported that the Boston Bruins final offer to Brad Marchand was two-years at $3 million AAV.

Boston Bruins actual offer to Brad Marchand
A new report has come out and confirmed what the Boston Bruins actually offered Brad Marchand.
According to Paul Bissonnette the Boston Bruins offered Brad Marchand $6.125 million, which is the exact same as the contract he is signed too right now. Marchand's camp reportedly asked for $7.5 million.
This is when Marchand called for a meeting and stated that he was willing to meet in the middle, but the Boston Bruins would not budge.
Report from @BizNasty2point0 on @spittinchiclets that Bruins offered Marchand $6.125m (current cap-hit) and Marchand's camp asked for $7.5m.
Meeting was requested by Marchand who was willing to meet in the middle, but Bruins weren't.
If this is accurate I think Bruins were not satisfied with his production and/or leadership. Why else would they move on from him?
This whole situation is a mess.
