Last season, the Boston Bruins were a terrible team, one of the worst in the NHL. David Pastrnak has recently spoke out during an interview regarding the little moves the Boston Bruins made to make them better.

This off-season was a terrible one for General Manager Don Sweeney.
He stated that the Boston Bruins were going to be a better team heading into next year, and he wanted them to be more competitive, but he didn't make any big moves, or address any of their needs this off-season.
The Boston Bruins are still lacking a top-six forward, and some secondary scoring. Don Sweeney added some solid depth players, but didn't bring in any help for their top guys like Pastrnak and McAvoy.

David Pastrnak speaks on off-season moves

Pastrnak seems to not care what the team is doing, but instead it looks like he is focused on improving his own game heading into the new season.
«Well, that's a pretty good first question,» Pastrnak said to Czech outlet Hokej.cz about Boston not adding a top-line player. «I don't really think about it. I'm just focusing on being well prepared for the season. We signed a lot of experienced players who will help us on the ice and in the locker room with leadership. It's been a long summer, so I'm looking forward to it starting up again.»

It's clear that Pastrnak is going to have to lead the Bruins offense once again without much help. The two biggest moves Sweeney made was trading for Viktor Arvidsson, and signing Tanner Jeannot.
Last season, Pastrnak carried the Boston Bruins, scoring 43 goals, 63 assists for 106 points in 82 games despite the Bruins finishing 5th worst in the league.
Pastrnak did go on to state that he is looking forward to helping the Bruins get back to becoming contenders once again:
«Last season was a huge disappointment for all of us. Everyone who was there is even more motivated to turn it around next year,» Pastrnak said. «That's why we play hockey, it's special for every player. That will be our goal.»

Despite the Bruins not announcing a new captain for the season, Pastrnak is going to be a leader for them:
«Nothing changes. It wouldn't change if I had the C or McAvoy. We're all in this together, we still have guys in the locker room who won the Stanley Cup. I know I'm a leader and Boston's game will depend on me. We have to continue to work together, improve and help the young guys,» Pastrnak added.
