The Boston Bruins are currently left without a captain. Entering the year, many believed that David Pastrnak was going to be named his replacement, but a shocking announcement was made regarding it.
The Bruins have announced that they will be heading into the 2025-26 season without a captain.
David Pastrnak, and Charlie McAvoy are currently the team's only assistant captains heading into the new season.
Sturm had some comments regarding the Bruins captaincy:
If you're a Boston Bruin, it's a big deal. If you're not 100% sure, then no, you don't [have to name a captain]. I'm the coach, and I'm not going to say I'm making that decision alone. I don't want to because it's different. Again, it's the Boston Bruins, and it is a big deal. That's something we're going to talk about. We both have to agree that this is the right guy. We will, but I don't know when.
