Today during Don Sweeney's press conference to kick off training camp for the Boston Bruins, Sweeney gave a big update regarding Matthew Poitras' health heading into training camp.
Don Sweeney told the media that Matthew Poitras will be good to go for training camp after undergoing shoulder surgery in the middle of the season last year.
A roster spot is not promised for Matthew Poitras, or anyone for the matter. Sweeney stated that everyone is going to have to earn their spot on the roster. Hopefully the surgery does not effect Poitras too much, and we see him make the roster come opening night.
Poitras appeared in 33 games last year for the Boston Bruins before getting injured, and made a name for himself putting up 5 goals and 10 assists, 15 points, in just his first year in the NHL.
The Bruins are hopeful that Poitras can bring that plus some this year.
