Boston Bruins Reportedly Set To Complete an Unexpected Move With A Goaltender

During the Boston Bruins end of season media availability, Joonas Korpisalo ended up calling out the Boston Bruins organization, and it's going to force them to make a move heading into next year.
He might not have been trying to start anything publicly, but Joonas Korpisalo clearly stated that he was not a fan of how he was treated during his first season with the Boston Bruins.
Last off-season, the Boston Bruins traded for Korpisalo along with Mark Kastelic, and a first-round pick, in exchange for Linus Ullmark. Korpisalo was brought in to be the backup to Jeremy Swayman.
The Senators wanted to move on from Korpisalo after how badly he struggled there, having a 20-26-4 record with a 3.27 GGA and a .890 SV%.
Since coming to Boston, he really changed his game. Korpisalo played on a pretty terrible Boston Bruins team this year, and ended the year with a 11-10-3 with a 2.90 GAA and a .893 SV%. In all 82 games, Korpisalo only started 24 of them, and it's safe to say that he was not happy with it.
Boston Bruins To Make A Move With Korpisalo
«You just try to put everything you have out there, make your mark to gain some playing time, but you just do what's best for you every day, and try your best and work hard, and that way you might earn some more playing time,» he said. «But it's sometimes not up to me, who's going to play more. And whatever the role it is, you do the best you can in that role.»
Korpisalo has enjoyed playing in Boston and spoke about it:
«Enjoy it a lot. I mean, it's, first of all, it's a massive hockey town,» he said. «And everyone breathes through the hockey and you can sense it anywhere you go here. It's pretty cool. Just great people here»
He is not happy with his starts this year, and it's going to force the Bruins to make a move with him. Either they are going to have to trade him or give him more games because he is not going to want to in Boston if that's the case.
«I don't think there's any goalie in the league who's really comfortable playing 20 to 25 games,» he said. «So I'm going to push for more games, for sure, and we'll see what happens. I'll do my best, and we'll see.»
